Pride is stupid. I have hurt a friend with my reckless words. And the process has suceeded in dragging up ugly bits of me i don't like to look at. This isn't who i want to be...
If you're on the road to freedom from this ugliness, don't shove these bits back down. Instead, hold them up to the Lord as an offering. It's a very hard thing to do - to fully embrace the darkness of who we are, in front of the Lord - but, what He gives in return for our offering is eternal peace.
We all make mistakes, and hopefully, your friend will forgive and forget. But, regardless of what happens there, you have an opportunity to truly learn from this mistake and grow closer to (becoming more like) Christ.
