School

Well, this it ...
I've put off thinking about it as long as possible because i know once i'm in it, i will become entirely immersed - or i will fail miserably. I know from past experience that i can't do this unless i let it become my world. That said- i'm not nervous. maybe i should be, but i know it's well within my capabilities. Just have to take it- pardon the phrase Ali - Seriously.

Now that it's started, i'm excited. I love campus in the fall, the leaves, the slanted orange-ish light, the bustle, the energy of new things, enthusiasm for ideas not yet numbed and dulled by crushing stress and expectations of performance.
I'm looking forward to this.

Ah, the miasma of fear and trepidation among the freshman. How it feeds the soul of those gone before.

Ah school in the fall. Makes me want to head down to the campus and look scholarly. Perhaps I'll see you there.

hey stranger, I'm on campus now too. we should hook up sometime and stand in awe of the fall colors together.

My wife is on campus, and with all this talk about the lovely colors, I think I'll have to join her for lunch one day - maybe we'll all bump into each other... at the same time... as if our meeting designed by God, Himself. Wouldn't that be cool?!

You know, whenever I visit this blog, I begin to sing "The Story Teller" song. Do you remember that song?
"I'm the story teller,
And my name is John.
I'm the story teller,
come an sing along."
Or something like that....
I just remember sitting in class in elementary school watching this guy tell a story - he was animated, and dressed up like the typical Robin Hood/minstrel style of the day, and he played the Lute (I think that's what it's called).

J, there,s a substantial in-joke behind the title, and it , sadly, has nothing to do with my musical ability...
And i'm afraid that song must be from that strange alternate universe you grew up in....

Alternat universe?? You mean kids in this universe didn't just outgrow the fish stuck thru their heads?? Did you ever have anything ever grow out of your head?

I feel so odd....
